WHAT IS WICHITA PROMISE MOVE

Wichita Promise MOVE is designed to remove the barriers that keep individuals from getting trained in high-demand career fields. It is a scholarship program available exclusively to people outside of the Wichita area who are willing and able to relocate to start a new career. The Wichita Promise MOVE scholarship pays tuition and fees for eligible programs at WSU Tech. It provides certifications and credentials, personal career coaching and a guaranteed job interview. In addition, Wichita Promise MOVE will pay relocation expenses, cost of living expenses while in the program and offer a potential sign-on bonus upon completion. Additional benefits may be considered on an individual basis.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Interested in and enroll in one of the eligible Wichita Promise MOVE program(s).
  • Have a permanent residence 75 miles or more outside of Wichita, KS and in one of the following states; Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Nebraska or Missouri, and able to provide proof of residence.
  • Be willing and able to relocate to Wichita, KS on specified move-in date as assigned by WSU Tech.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to apply for Financial Aid through the FAFSA and complete all financial aid eligibility requirements.
  • High school or GED graduate.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with a permanent resident card.
  • Can pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must have a desire to accept an employment offer in Wichita once training is complete.
  • Ability to attend and progress through the program in the sequence required.
  • Ability to maintain a 2.5 GPA during the program.
  • Must meet program entry requirements.

START DATES 

All classes will be held Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the National Center for Aviation Training in Wichita, KS. Program length is approximately 6 to 7 weeks.
