At WSU Tech Open Education, we make learning simple, accessible, and career-focused. Whether you’re an individual looking to upskill, wanting to learn a new skill just for fun, or a business aiming to train your most valuable assets – your employees, our non-credit training programs are designed to help you gain real-world knowledge that can be applied immediately.

How To Get Started

1. Find a Course That Fits Your Goals

Browse our catalog of high-impact training programs designed to meet industry demands and personal development needs. From technical certifications, professional development courses, or learning a fun new skill, we offer a wide range of options that align with workforce trends and community interests, including some offerings as instructional series. 

Who can enroll? Anyone! Whether you’re an industry professional, business partner, or community member, our courses are open to all learners.

2. Enroll & Pay Online

Once you’ve found the right training program or course, enrolling is fast and easy through our online registration system. Simply select your course, complete the registration and enrollment process, including creating your account, and submit payment. You’re ready to start learning!  

Payment Options: 

  • Pay as an individual 
  • Employer-sponsored training (businesses may cover costs for employees) 

Note: Some courses may have enrollment deadlines, so be sure to register early to secure your spot! 

3. Learn in a Flexible Format

Courses are designed with flexibility in mind to accommodate busy schedules. Depending on the training program, you may have options to learn:
In-Person – In-person hands-on training at a WSU Tech location or satellite location
Online – Self-paced or instructor-led virtual courses
Hybrid – A mix of online and in-person learning

While these programs cover a wide range of topics & content, WSU Tech is focused on skills training that fulfills in-demand, local needs. Example course coverage: Aviation, Manufacturing, Healthcare, IT, Applied Tech, Professional Development, Hospitality, and so much more! 

Varies by course. Some employer-sponsored options are available.

There are a variety of options available. Depending on subject matter & training outcomes, courses can be in person, online (or both), and last from one day to multiple weeks. 

Registration process & cost will vary class to class. Most courses will require registration and enrollment through Canvas Catalog. Students will pay for courses on their own or employers may work with WSU Tech to arrange for employees to register for training and cover that cost.

No. Open Education courses are separate from credit-bearing courses. However, if you currently have a WSU Tech account, it is required that you use an alternative email account to enroll and register in Open Education courses.

No, not at this time. These upskilling & training classes will not earn you college credit on their own. To see our college credit programs, visit WSUTECH.edu/ admissions/programs-of-study 

Instructors will range from WSU Tech faculty & staff to industry & subject-matter experts.
