Registration Process

Registration is the process of officially adding yourself to the WSU Tech roster for each concurrent credit class and must be done every semester for each class through your MyJumpstart account.

Before you register – Meet Prerequisites

Many concurrent enrollment classes require prerequisites. Prerequisites help ensure that you are prepared to be successful in certain college classes. Talk with your CCC (college & career counselor) or one of our advisors at hsadmissions@wsutech.edu to make sure you have the appropriate placement scores before registering for concurrent enrollment classes.

STEP 1: LOG IN

  • Go to myjumpstart.wsutech.edu and select the High School Student role and Log In
    • If you have not created an account, Start New Application

STEP 2: SELECT YOUR CLASS(ES)

    • Click on “Enroll in Classes” and select your classes
    • There may be multiple sections of the same course offered at your high school. Choose the correct course(s) by verifying School, Term, Course/Section, Instructor, and Schedule
    • Once complete, click “Enroll in Selected”
    • You can check your enrollment status anytime

STEP 3: UPLOAD SUPPORTING DOCUMENT(S)

    • Classes with prerequisites will require students to upload transcripts and/or placement test scores (ACT, AP Test Scores, etc.) to verify that students meet the eligibility requirements

STEP 4: AFTER YOU REGISTER – SIGN THE PARENT PERMISSION FORM

    • To complete your application, click on “Parental Consent” and send your parent/guardian an email to request authorization OR have our parent/guardian read the acknowledgement and sign parental consent for you, the student, to enroll in concurrent credit classes

STEP 5: FERPA (optional)

In compliance with the Federal Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, WSU Tech is prohibited from providing certain information from your student records to a third party (i.e. parents), such as information on grades, billing, and other student record information. You may, at your discretion, grant WSU Tech permission to release information about your student records to a third party by submitting a completed Student Consent to Release Education Records authorization. You must complete a separate form for each third party to whom you grant access to information on your student records.

    • Navigate to “FERPA Consent” on your Home Page or on the left navigation panel
    • Read the description and Complete all fields with information on the third party you are allowing WSU Tech to communicate with regarding your student records.
    • Create an identifier code with the parameters listed. (This is the code that you will give to your parent/guardian so they can communicate with WSU Tech on your behalf).
    • Verify all information is accurate, sign (student’s signature), and submit.
    • Have questions regarding FERPA? Call 316.677.9400 and ask to speak to the Registrar.

STEP 6: Registration Status

Unsure of your enrollment status? Check on MyJumpstart!

The WSU Tech enrollment team will view your course selection(s) and officially enroll you in the course(s) with instructor approval once the unofficial transcript is verified. You can check your enrollment status under the “Enrollment Status” section.

Course Status Descriptions:

    • APPLIED: Waiting for supporting documents from High School or Parent Consent.
    • APPROVED/NOT APPROVED: High School has reviewed the enrollment request.
    • REGISTERED: Registration for the class(es) selected was successful.
    • DROP: The class is dropped prior to the start date. This will not show on the student’s college transcript.
    • WITHDRAW: A withdraw occurs after a class add/drop period and the student is responsible for any outstanding balances. This will appear on the student’s college transcript.
    • LATE APPLICATION: The application was received after the deadline and will not be processed this term.

If you run into problems:

Problems are not uncommon during registration. If any of the following apply you will not be able to register for classes until the issue has been resolved.

  • Required test scores or pre-requisites are not in your MyJumpstart Supporting Documents
  • You owe money to WSU Tech from previous semester(s)
  • Your social security number and/or date of birth was inputted incorrectly during the application process

If any of these issues occur, please reach out to hsadmissions@wsutech.edu
