WSU Tech + Koch Apprenticeship Student

ABOUT THE KOCH ACCOUNTING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

The Koch Apprenticeship program is an opportunity for people from any background or experience level to gain education and hands-on experience that could lead to a full-time accounting role with Koch. Professionals from both WSU Tech and Koch guide you through an accelerated individualized program in Wichita, Kansas. All coursework will be completed online- and pacing is flexible. You can work 20-40 hours a week, depending on your schedule.

Koch will cover all coursework expenses, through WSU Tech, where students will focus on foundational business and accounting concepts. Students will also receive complementary instruction through Koch’s management philosophy, Principle Based Management (TM). During the paid apprenticeship, students will complete their remaining WSU Tech and Koch U coursework while also working 20-25 hours each week alongside accountants and tax professionals.

HOW IT WORKS

Individual Course Plan Assessment

  • Foundational coursework offered through WSU Tech & Koch U
  • Full-time student commitment until foundational coursework is completed

Apprenticeship Placement

  • Upon completion of foundational coursework coursework, paid apprenticeship begins with a Koch company (20-25 hours each week).
  • Continue remaining  coursework part-time until completed

Program Completion

  • Apprenticeship program participants are eligible for full-time employment with Koch companies within accounting/tax

ELIGIBILITY

• Able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Be able to meet the demands of a full-time student and be enrolled in the WSU Tech Accounting Certificate Program
• Availability to work at least 20 hours per week during the apprenticeship period with intent to pursue full-time employment with Koch after successful completion of all required coursework and satisfactory apprenticeship performance
          • Timing and apprenticeship opportunities are flexible and based on experience or previous college credit.
• Interest in a career in accounting or tax
• Be a High School Graduate or have earned a GED
• Be 18 years of age or older

Participation is limited to individuals selected for the Koch Accounting Apprenticeship.

WSU Tech + Koch Apprenticeship Student

COMPENSATION

Koch will cover all foundational coursework expenses for individuals accepted into the program. Apprentices will be paid during their employment through the apprenticeship placement. Those who successfully complete the program and are extended and accept an offer of full-time employment will become eligible for Koch benefits as well as receive competitive compensation. This compensation is inclusive of signing bonus sufficient to offset residual education-related expenses.

STEPS TO APPLY

1. Apply for the Koch Accounting Apprenticeship HERE.

2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) and complete all other financial aid requirements prior to the enrollment deadline.

3. Attend the Koch Accounting Apprenticeship program interview, and selected candidates will be notified.

4. Once selected, complete the application for admission to WSU Tech.

5. Contact your WSU Tech Advisor and enroll for classes.
