WSU Tech is looking for passionate high school instructors who want to expand their impact by teaching college-level courses while continuing to teach at their high school. This is a unique opportunity to inspire and prepare students for their future careers by bringing higher education directly into the classroom. Passionate educators interested in becoming concurrent instructors can apply through MyJumpStart.

Faculty Qualifications:

Application Steps for High School Instructors

  • Step 1: Access MyJumpStart
    • Visit MyJumpStart
      • Select High School Instructor.
      • Click on Prospects/Applicants.
      • Select Start New Application.
  • Step 2: Complete the Application
    • Scroll to find your school or type the name of your school into the search bar.
    • Wichita Public Schools: Type “Wichita” followed by your high school’s name for faster results.
    • Add each course you are teaching (e.g., College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus).
    • Select the academic year you will be teaching with WSU Tech
    • Upload Required Document:
      • An updated resume, including teaching and industry experience
      • Transcripts and/or CTE industry certifications (unofficial copies are acceptable)
    • Provide the names and email addresses of your principal and counselor
      • An automated email will be sent to them to complete the reference process (notify them to check spam folders).
  • Step 3: Final Steps
    • Complete the rest of the application.
    • If you encounter any issues, reach out for assistance.
    • Once your application is submitted, WSU Tech will coordinate with People and Culture (HR) for next steps.

Concurrent Credit Instructor Responsibilities

  • Orientation:
    • Attend new hire orientation (stipend provided).
  • Professional Development:
    • Attend one in-service per year (stipend provided).
  • FERPA Training:
    • Complete FERPA training and quiz on CANVAS.
  • Course Preparation:
    • Submit a syllabus for each course using the Simple Syllabus system (support provided).
  • Administrative Requirements:
    • Verify rosters.
    • Submit a stipend agreement for payment.
    • Submit assessment rubrics (if applicable).
    • Submit final grades.
