Course Eligibility and Requirements

To enroll in dual-credit courses at WSU Tech, students are required to meet specific eligibility criteria. This includes submitting an unofficial transcript to verify GPA and completing any required course prerequisites. Additional documentation may be needed depending on the selected courses.

  • Students must meet with their High School Counselor or CCC to review eligibility requirements and submit required documentation.

Eligibility

  • 9th grade with gifted IEP or 10th grade student or higher
  • Good academic standing with 2.5+ GPA in High School

  • ENG101 – Composition I
    • ACCUPLACER Next Gen: Writing 255+ and Reading 255+
    • ACT: English 18+ and Reading 18+
    • High School English and GPA: B+ in most recent high school English course AND a 2.7 unweighted GPA after 5thsemester
    • High School GPA: 3.0 Unweighted GPA after 5thsemester
    • High School English and ACT: B+ in most recent high school English course AND ACT English 16+ and ACT Reading 16+
  • ENG120 – Composition II
    • College-Level Composition I: Grade of A or B
  • MTH108 – Contemporary Math
    • ACT: Math 19+
    • ALEKS PPL: 30+
    • High School Algebra 2: Grade of C or higher and cumulative GPA 3.0+
    • SAT: 510+
  • MTH112 – College Algebra
    • ACT: Math 22+
    • ALEKS PPL: 46+
    • High School Algebra 2: Grade of B- or higher and cumulative GPA 3.25+
    • SAT: 540+
  • MTH113 – Trigonometry
    • ACT: Math 23+
    • College-Level College Algebra: Grade of C or higher
  • MTH120 – Elementary Statistics
    • ACT: Math 19+
    • ALEKS PPL: 30+
    • High School Algebra 2: Grade of C or higher and cumulative GPA 3.0+
    • SAT: 510+
  • MTH125 – PreCalculus and Calculus I
  • If you are planning on taking the Calculus sequence of courses you will have to have completed the appropriate Algebra and Trigonometry courses.
    • Path 1: Direct Placement into Calculus I (MTH 125)
      • Two units of high school algebra, one unit of high school geometry and one-half unit of high school trigonometry OR
      • MTH 110 or MTH 112 with a C or better in each OR
      • Pre-Calculus with a C or better
    • Path 2: Take College Algebra (MTH 112) followed by Trigonometry (MTH 113).
    • Path 3: Take PreCalculus (MTH 115), and then enroll in MTH 125 upon completion. Placement requirements into MTH 112 are identical to MTH 110.
  • CHM110 or CHM125 – General Chemistry or Chemistry I
    • ACT: Math 22+
    • ALEKS PPL: 46+
    • High School Algebra 2: Grade of A or B and cumulative GPA 3.25+
  • CHM135 – Chemistry II
    • College-Level Chemistry I: Grade of A or B
  • PHS120 – General Physics I
    • ACT: Math 22+
    • ALEKS PPL: 46+
    • High School Algebra 2: Grade of A or B and cumulative GPA 3.25+
  • PHS125 – General Physics II
    • College-Level Physics I: Grade of A or B
  • ECO105 – Principles of Macroeconomics
    • ACT: Math 16+
    • College-Level Math: Grade of C or higher in College Algebra, Contemporary Math, Elementary Statistics, Trigonometry, or Calculus
  • ECO110 – Principles of Microeconomics
    • ACT: Math 16+
    • College-Level Math: Grade of C or higher in College Algebra, Contemporary Math, Elementary Statistics, Trigonometry, or Calculus
  • BIO150 – Human Anatomy and Physiology
    • College-Level Courses: Grade of C or higher in Principles of Biology, Microbiology, or Chemistry
  • Vet Assist – 2.5 GPA
  • Criminal Justice – A or B in your last full year English course combined with at least a 2.0 GPA
