WSU Tech Expands Tuition-Free Wichita Promise Scholarship to Include Four New High-Demand Programs

Wichita, Kan. — WSU Tech has announced an expansion of its tuition-free Wichita Promise scholarship to include four new programs for the Fall 2025 semester: Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Digital Marketing, Mental Health Technician, and Cloud Computing.

Wichita Promise is a one-semester, last-dollar scholarship that covers tuition and fees for students pursuing select high-demand programs. In addition to financial support, the scholarship includes career coaching, wraparound services, and a guaranteed job interview with an employer partner. Wichita Promise continues to be a key initiative in WSU Tech’s commitment to removing barriers to education while building a skilled workforce for the region.

For Fall 2025, Wichita Promise Scholarships are now available for the following programs:

Para Educator, Associate of Applied Science

Healthcare

Pre-Practical Nurse health core classes
Pre-Associate Degree Nurse (A.D.N) health core classes
Pre-Surgical Technology health core classes

Classes begin in August, and students are encouraged to apply now. WSU Tech will also host walk-in enrollment throughout August—no appointment needed—at its South and NCAT campuses.

WSU Tech will be closed and classes will be canceled Wednesday, Dec. 5 in observance of the National Day of Mourning for President George H.W. Bush.

Weather update: All classes are canceled and college offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 7. For events at the college, contact the event organizer for more information. WSU Tech will resume its normal schedule on Friday, Feb. 8.

ATTENTION: All WSU Tech locations will be closed starting Monday, Nov. 21st through Friday, Nov. 25th for Fall Break. Offices will resume normal business hours Monday, Nov. 28th.

REMINDER: Fall Break is November 25th - 29th. All WSU Tech campuses and offices will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, December 2nd.
