Welcome to the Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) department. It is our priority to ensure that all students feel welcome and supported in their courses, programs, and journey through their education. We provide a variety of accommodations for students with learning, psychological or physical disabilities and/or differences. It is our mission to empower and ensure that all students have equal access to an education and full campus experience.
WSU Tech recognizes that traditional methods of learning are not always appropriate or sufficiently able to accommodate students with a qualifying disability. In those situations, considerations are given to alternative methods to support the student while making sure that academic standards are still met.
Getting Started
How to Request Accommodations or Register with the SASS office at WSU Tech:
- Complete the WSU Tech Student Accessibility and Support Services request form. (Contact the SASS office at 316-677-1065 or SASS@wsutech.edu if you need help).
- Upload or send documentation clearly listing the student’s disability and how it affects the educational setting. Documentation may include a Disability Verification Form, Individualized Education Plans (IEP), 504 Plans, Psychoeducational evaluations, or other documentation from a licensed professional listing the student’s disability, any testing that has been done, and/or any accommodation recommendations. If you have any questions, please contact the SASS office for more information.
-
- Documentation can be attached and sent with the WSU Tech Student Accessibility and Support Services request form, emailed to SASS@wsutech.edu, faxed to 316-462-0716, or by contacting SASS staff to make alternate arrangements.
- Please contact the SASS Office at 316-677-1065 or SASS@wsutech.edu with questions or if you need help completing required documents. Accommodations should be requested as soon as reasonably possible.
-
- Once documentation is completed and submitted to the SASS office, students will need to schedule an appointment with staff to review requested accommodations and disability documentation.
I have more questions now what do I do?
