If you are ready to get started with hybrid and online classes, the following information will help you get your computer prepared for use with Blackboard.

Internet Service Provider (ISP) Requirements

Users connecting to the Online Learning server must meet the minimum required Internet Service requirements:

Minimum Required Speed	Dial-Up (56 Kbps)
Recommended Speed	Cable (27 Mbps) or DSL
Types Supported	Dial-Up, ISDN, Cable, DSL, T1, T3

Web Browser Requirements

Supported Web Browsers	Browser Support for Blackboard October 2014 (Google Chrome is the preferred browser for Blackboard)
Browser Plug-ins	Browser Support for Blackboard October 2014 (Scroll down to the Java and Other Browser Plugins section)

Other Software Requirements

Email	My Mail inside Blackboard WSU Tech Student Email (Student Email link inside myWSU Tech)
Word Processor	Microsoft Word is the word processor software required for many courses If you do not own a copy of Microsoft Word, you may access it via Remote Desktop
Virus Protection	Any Anti-Virus program will work as long as it is installed on your computer and kept up to date See Software Downloads for some examples of free or free trial Virus Protection

WSU Tech will be closed and classes will be canceled Wednesday, Dec. 5 in observance of the National Day of Mourning for President George H.W. Bush.

Weather update: All classes are canceled and college offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 7. For events at the college, contact the event organizer for more information. WSU Tech will resume its normal schedule on Friday, Feb. 8.

ATTENTION: All WSU Tech locations will be closed starting Monday, Nov. 21st through Friday, Nov. 25th for Fall Break. Offices will resume normal business hours Monday, Nov. 28th.

ATTENTION: The college will be closed December 22 – January 2 for Winter break. We will re-open January 3.

NOTICE: Due to weather, WSU Tech campuses will be closed on Tuesday. Jan. 16, 2024. Classes will be held remotely, employees to work remotely.

ATTENTION: All Student Services will be closed and the Self Service platform will be unavailable on June 30th for necessary updates. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

ATTENTION: All WSU Tech campuses will be closed on Monday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

ATTENTION: All WSU Tech campuses will close at 2pm on Friday, August 12, 2022, to allow for college-wide convocation. We will be open during our normal business hours on Monday, August 15, 2022.

⚠️ WSU Tech Alert: Due to a power outage, our City Center Campus is closing at 12 pm today, Tuesday, August 22. This impacts our City Center campus ONLY.

REMINDER: Fall Break is November 25th - 29th. All WSU Tech campuses and offices will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, December 2nd.

REMINDER: Winter Break is December 22nd - January 2nd. All WSU Tech campuses and offices will be closed. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2024.

REMINDER: WSU Tech Student Services will be closed on Friday, December 15th from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. This includes Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, Business office, SASS, Success Coaches, TRIO, and FutureMaker. We will resume services with regular business hours on Monday, December 18th.

REMINDER: There are no classes March 11th – 17th for Spring Break and the college is closed on March 14th & 15th, including administrative offices. All campus operations and classes will resume as normal on March 18th.

NOTICE: Due to anticipated severe weather, WSU Tech will close at 3 PM on Monday, May 6. All evening classes are canceled.
