Wichita’s world-class aviation workers make us the Air Capital of the World. The Wichita region has some of the largest aerospace manufacturers in the world and more than 450 suppliers, plus an increasing number of projects in defense and other areas. Whether you’ve already worked in aviation or are interested in learning more, there’s no better place than Wichita. And, depending on where you were laid off from, you could get training paid for plus help with other expenses.

If you’re good at solving problems and are looking to expand your job options, consider a career in technology. The Wichita area has more than 110 IT-sector companies, and that doesn’t include the large businesses with substantial tech departments. Plus, Wichita was recently named the #1 city in the nation for digital service job growth by the Brookings Institution. Take advantage of funding to help pay for your tuition in a tech-focused program.

HEALTHCARE

Wichita is home to the largest hospitals and clinics in the state, with numerous smaller entities such as senior living facilities and home health organizations. Many local health care organizations are looking for people with nursing certifications, including CNAs, home health care aides, LPNs and RNs. Or, you can look into allied health positions, such as dental assistant and EMT. If health care is your calling, take advantage of funds to pay for your school.
