The Private Security Officer Training course
This is a 48 hour course designed to train Security Officers in basic duties and requirements as a security officer in compliance to the Wichita City Code. Upon successful completion of the Basic PSOT course, students will receive a certificate of completion from WSU Tech and may apply for the permanent security permit issued by the training department of the Wichita Police department. Temporary security permit from Wichita Police department is recommended.

Please note that class capacity is 30 students per class. We encourage early enrollment and payment to secure a seat. Participants must attend all 48 hours of the course in order to receive a certificate.
All classes are held at WSU South located at 3821 E. Harry. Classes are held from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
Enrollment fee is $150.00 per person per class and must be paid by the Friday before class starts. Refund policy is 100% refund of tuition if cancellation is received by Friday before class starts. No refunds after the close of class. There will be a $25 late fee for any payments made after the beginning of class. Classes may be cancelled due to low enrollment.
