WICHITA, Kan. – WSU Tech hosted a community Open House Thursday, April 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. at their Southside Center (4501 E. 47th St. S.) and Grove campus (301 S. Grove). There were over 350 people in attendance at the two campuses. This was the first opportunity for those in attendance to apply for the recently announced Wichita Promise scholarship program. This program pays for students’ tuition and fees, for select programs, and guarantees a job interview at completion.
A highlight of the Open House was the grand opening of the newly renovated Climate and Energy Control Technologies lab at WSU Tech’s City Center. The new lab, funded through a $1.5 million KanTrain grant, features all new state-of-the-art Trane heating and air conditioning equipment and Snap-on tools for students to learn about and train on. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new lab took place at 4:30 p.m. in building D at WSU Tech’s Grove campus. Local industry partners from Trane
