WSU Tech Automotive Service program receives generous donation from Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund
WICHITA, Kansas —Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund donates $1000 to WSU Tech’s Automotive Service Technology program for four years. Ken Powers, Area Manager of Bridgestone Retail Operations presented the award to Scott Lucas, Chief Instructional Officer of Career and Technical Education, WSU Tech, at a ceremony Feb. 10, 2016.
The Bridgestone and Firestone donation is awarded to partnered colleges providing training to current and future Bridgestone and Firestone technicians. WSU Tech plans to use the donation to purchase supplies for the Automotive Technology program.
Bridgestone operates Bridgestone and Firestone tires, Firestone Complete Auto Care stores and Tires Plus stores.
WSU Tech’s Auto Service Technology program allows students to gain skills and knowledge to accurately diagnose, repair and service various automobile vehicles. Students can earn a two year Associate of Applied Science degree in Auto Service Technology, a Technical Certificate, which is usually completed in a year or less or a certificate of completion. The Auto Service Technology program is offered at WSU Tech’s Grove campus at 301 S. Grove in Wichita, Kansas.

WSU Tech serves as managing partner of the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT) in Wichita.
