On June 15, 2022 during a news conference at WSU Tech’s National Center for Aviation Training, Governor Laura Kelly ceremonially signed the new Kansas aviation tax credit into law. The legislation encourages more workers to consider a career in the Kansas aerospace industry by creating a nonrefundable $5,000 tax credit for taxpayers who become qualified employees during the taxable year and for four succeeding years of employment. WSU Tech as the state’s leader in aviation and advanced manufacturing education is prepared to help individuals become eligible for the $25,000 incentive through their extensive offerings of aviation training programs and the Wichita Promise scholarship program.
