WHAT IS METALLICA SCHOLARS

The Metallica Scholars – Women in Manufacturing program is ready to rock the manufacturing industry. Created thanks to a gift from The Metallica All Within My Hands Foundation and the American Association of Community College, the program will provide financial assistance for women to receive education in traditionally male-dominated career pathways. This unique program offers tuition and fees paid, personal career coaching and a guaranteed job interview – plus, the possibility of a paid internship and daycare assistance.

PROGRAM DETAILS

  • Metallica Scholars – Women in Manufacturing scholarship will cover the cost of tuition and fees, for eligible programs, outside of what the Pell Grant and Veteran’s Educational benefits cover for qualifying students.
  • Provide a potential childcare stipend for those who qualify.
  • Financial Aid and enrollment must be completed to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Textbooks and tools are not covered and may be an additional expense.
  • Participation is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to those who meet the eligibility requirements.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • A female interested in one of the eligible Metallica Scholars – Women in Manufacturing programs.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to apply for Financial Aid through the FAFSA and complete all financial aid eligibility requirements.
  • High school or GED graduate.
  • New adult student at WATC / WSU Tech or previous JumpStart student.
  • If a prior student at WATC/WSU Tech, must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Ability to maintain a 2.5 GPA during the program.
  • Must meet program entry requirements.
  • Ability to attend and progress through the program in the sequence required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with a permanent resident card.
