HEERF III

On March 11th, 2021, additional funds were made available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF III) with Public Law 117-2, the American Rescue Plan (ARP).  ARP under HEERF III directs institutions of higher education to use funds received under section 314(a)(1) of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus. In conjunction to the funding received under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) and CRRSAA as detailed within their respective sections following this HEERF III section, WSU Tech was provided an additional $5,084,663 under the ARP to be made directly available for student emergency grants.

HEERF III 3.31.23

NOTICE*: As of June 30, 2022, ARP funding awarded for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students have been fully exhausted. The application and award period from HEER funding is now closed.

HEERF II

On December 27, 2020, the President signed an expansion for The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF II).  HEERF II directs institutions of higher education to use funds received under section 314(a)(1) of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus. In conjunction to the funding received under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act as detailed following this HEERF II section, WSU Tech was provided an additional $1,191,899 under CRRSAA to be made directly available for student emergency grants.

HEERF II 3.31.23

NOTICE*: As of September 30, 2021, any remaining available funds from HEERF II student aid will be awarded using HEERF III eligibility requirements. Allocation of funds are awarded based upon financial need. The total amount remaining from HEERF II student aid at September 30, 2021 was $45,649. This was fully awarded as of October 5, 2021. The application and award period from CRRSAA funding is now closed.

HEERF – CARES

On March 27th, 2020, WSU Tech was authorized to receive funding through the Secretary of Education from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). On April 13, 2020, WSU Tech filed a funding Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) act with the Secretary of Education. In compliance with Section 18004(c) of the CARES Act, WSU Tech allocated at least fifty percent of the funds received to provide emergency financial aid grants to students for expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus. In total, $1,191,899 was made directly available for student emergency grants and was fully expended as of September 2nd, 2020

HEERF CARES 3.31.23

NOTICE*: As of September 2, 2020, CARES funds awarded for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students have been fully exhausted. The application and award period from CARES funding is now closed.

Eligible students were invited to apply for an initial award of $500 in COVID-19 emergency relief funds. Eligibility was limited to individuals enrolled at WSU Tech for the Spring and Summer of the 19-20 academic year and the Fall of 20-21 academic year in a technical certificate or degree-seeking program. To be approved for this grant opportunity, students were required to have a qualified FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file and be compliant with all federal aid requirements. HEERF Institutional and Supplemental Report

Institutions expending funds awarded under HEERF I CARES Act, HEERF II CRRSAA, or HEERF III ARP are required to post publicly a quarterly report describing the use of funds no later than 10 days after the end of each calendar quarter.  This page provides public information about WSU Tech’s participation in the use of the institution’s HEER funding.
