Can I participate in Shocker Pathway and Accelerate at the same time?
Yes, Accelerate students are able to choose a specific major to work toward or declare as a Shocker Pathway student working toward the AA degree to offer more time to decide on a program.
How do I get started?
Apply for admission to WSU Tech here.
Complete the Accelerate intent form here.
Do I have to decide on a major right away?
No, that is one of the benefits of the Accelerate program. While taking general education classes, students can explore academic options and decide what to major in once attending Wichita State University.
From which school will I earn my degree?
Students participating in the Shocker Pathway program will receive an Associates of Art degree from Wichita State University. If students complete gen eds, transfer to the University then pursue a bachelors it will be earned from the University. Students also have the option of earning an AAS from WSU Tech, then transferring and earning a bachelors from the University.
Which school’s tuition rate will I be charged?
While attending WSU Tech, students will be charged WSU Tech tuition and fees. While attending Wichita State University, students will be charged the University’s tuition and fees. If dual enrolled, students will be charged different tuition rates for each institution. This means that students will need to pay attention to the tuition rates and fee schedules of each institution enrolled in and plan accordingly.

Dual advising allows students planning to transfer to Wichita State to develop a plan of study, avoid unnecessary enrollment duplication, and receive up-to-date information on admission deadlines, scholarships, and curriculum changes. Students will also have an advisor assigned at Wichita State University in the appropriate academic division. It is preferred that students fill out the dual advising form as early as possible.
