WHAT IS THE FIRST 15?
WSU Tech has launched a new scholarship that is serious about getting 2020 high school graduates into college. The First 15 scholarship will pay tuition and fees for 2 to 5 classes or up to 15 credit hours of general education courses for the fall 2020 semester at WSU Tech.
Over 50 general education classes, both in-person and online, are eligible for the scholarship. These include popular classes like English Comp 1 & 2, College Algebra, Biology, and more! PLUS all general education classes at WSU Tech are GUARANTEED to transfer to any public college or university in the state of Kansas.
WHAT CLASSES ARE COVERED?
The First 15 scholarship will pay tuition and fees for up to 15 credit hours of general education courses for the fall 2020 semester at WSU Tech.
WSU Tech offers transferable general education courses that are guaranteed by the Kansas Board of Regents to transfer to public colleges and universities in Kansas. PROGRAM DETAILS
- First 15 will cover the cost of tuition and fees for up to 15 credit hours, for eligible general education courses, outside of what the Pell Grant and Veteran’s Educational benefits covers for qualifying students.
- Online and in-person, 8-week and 16-week courses available.
- Financial Aid and enrollment must be completed by session deadline.
- This promotion is redeemable only at WSU Tech not Wichita State University or any other college or university.
- First 15 scholarship is only available for the specified semester(s).
- First 15 cannot be used in conjunction with any other institutional scholarship.
- Textbooks and inclusive access fees are not covered and may be an additional expense.
- Participation is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to those who meet the eligibility requirements.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Must be a high school or GED graduate in 2020, prior to the start of the Fall 2020 semester.
- Must submit an official high school diploma or GED transcript with graduation date.
- Must be a new WSU Tech student or previous JumpStart student.
- If prior student with WSU Tech, must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Must be able to apply for federal financial aid through the FAFSA and must complete all financial aid eligibility requirements prior to deadline.
- Must be able to qualify for in-state tuition.
- Must enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours from the approved course list.
- Must meet individual course admissions requirements.
- Must attend the Online New Student Orientation before the end of the Fall 2020 semester.
