Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly Scholarship

Tuition-Free Opportunity & Guaranteed Job Interview with Spirit AeroSystems

WSU Tech will offer Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly training courses every 4 weeks with an opportunity for students to take the program tuition-free through its new Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly scholarship program. This new offering is in response to Spirit AeroSystems major job initiative announcement and to fill other Wichita workforce needs. Eligible students who enroll in the Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly program will also have a guaranteed job interview with Spirit AeroSystems upon completion of their training.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, Spirit AeroSystems announced its plans to add more than 1,000 new workers over the next five years as it prepares to meet commercial and defense demand. The increase of production by Spirit is also projected to mean as many as 3,000 new jobs elsewhere in the local supply chain. Of these jobs, there is a significant need for trained sheet metal mechanics.

As a long-time partner of Spirit AeroSystems, WSU Tech is committed to helping fill their need for skilled workers. Are you ready to be a part of Spirit’s $1 billion expansion? Apply Now for the Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly scholarship to get free tuition training in Aviation Sheetmetal Assembly and a guaranteed job interview.
