Open Education training programs offer a flexible, accelerated way to gain new skills that can help accelerate career advancement, learn something new, and satisfy professional needs.

While these programs cover a wide range of topics & content, WSU Tech is focused on skills training that fulfills in-demand, local needs. Example course coverage: Aviation, Manufacturing, Healthcare, IT, Applied Tech, Professional Development, Hospitality, and so much more! 

Varies by course. Some employer-sponsored options are available.

There are a variety of options available. Depending on subject matter & training outcomes, courses can be in person, online (or both), and last from one day to multiple weeks. 

Registration process & cost will vary class to class. Most courses will require registration and enrollment through Canvas Catalog. Students will pay for courses on their own or employers may work with WSU Tech to arrange for employees to register for training and cover that cost.

No. Open Education courses are separate from credit-bearing courses. However, if you currently have a WSU Tech account, it is required that you use an alternative email account to enroll and register in Open Education courses.

No, not at this time. These upskilling & training classes will not earn you college credit on their own. To see our college credit programs, visit WSUTECH.edu/ admissions/programs-of-study 

Instructors will range from WSU Tech faculty & staff to industry & subject-matter experts.
