Healthcare Simulation Technology Program Features

The Healthcare Simulation Technology program prepares the student for a career as a Simulation Technology Specialist. Upon completion of the curriculum, the student can apply to take the Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) exam through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. The curriculum includes practical and theoretical coursework that prepares the student for employment in various areas of healthcare, IT, and related simulation including hospitals, colleges, research facilities, and military bases. The instruction in this program consists of skills and concepts related to: simulation history, patient management, patient care, clinical procedures, medical equipment and supplies, computer hardware, computer software, computer networking, web-based applications and information systems, communication with healthcare providers/team dynamics, simulator maintenance/troubleshooting, simulator operation, audio/video equipment operation/troubleshooting, moulage application and preparation, office administration skills, simulation center management, professional development, research, and applicable standards and regulations.
